Adele’s throat surgeon has dismissed fears that she may be making her live comeback at  Grammy Awards  too early.

The ’21′ songstress went under the knife in America last November to have vocal chord microsurgery in order to stop recurrent bleeding from a benign polyp, a condition which forced to shelve all of her remaining live dates of 2011.

The ceremony will see her sing for the first time since her operation, but her surgeon Dr Steven Zeitels insisted that she was ready to perform live again.

Grammy Award-winning artist Adele is on her way to having her first number one single in the UK. The British singer’s new single Rolling In The Deep is reported to be outselling Grenades by Bruno Mars, which currently tops the official UK Chart. Other new entries in the Top 10 include Britney Spears with Hold It Against Me, and British rapper Wretch 32 with his single Traktor. Adele has narrowly missed out on a UK No.1 single in the past — her 2008 track Chasing Pavements made it to No.2 on the UK Chart, while her single from the same year, Make You Feel My Love, got to No.4 on the UK Top 40 Singles Chart.
ADELE has already chalked up a Jools Holland appearance, worked with Jim Abiss, Eg White and Mark Ronson, signed to XL Recordings and supported Jack Penate, Raul Midon, Amos Lee and Devendra Banhart. “As soon as I got a microphone in my hand, when I was about 14, I realised I wanted to do this,” she says. “Most people don’t like the way their voice sounds when it’s recorded. I was just so excited by the whole thing that I wasn’t bothered what it sounded like.” A fan of such diverse artists as Jill Scott, Etta James, Billy Bragg, Peggy Lee, Jeff Buckley and The Cure, Adele’s soul-tinged songs of love’s lost and memories made are set to resonate with all who hear them. “I’ve got no problem explaining what my lyrics are about,” ADELE says. “I really like poetry: I’m not very good at reading it, but I love writing it. Singers like Jill Scott and Karen Dalton are amazing; proper poets.

She’s just 19, but Adele Laurie Blue Adkins—you can call her simply Adele—sings like a woman three times her age, a soul sensation in her native U.K. who is poised to conquer America with 19, her debut album, which comes out in the States on XL /Columbia Records after debuting at #1 in the British charts.

The first single, “Chasing Pavements,” a #2 hit in the U.K., characterizes her autobiographical approach, written after a brawl in a London club with her boyfriend, which sent her fleeing out the door onto Oxford Street.

“I hate making people feel awkward and I hate feeling awkward, so I just left, but he didn’t follow me,” she explains. “I was running down these gigantic, wide sidewalks that stretch for miles, thinking to myself, ‘Where are you going? What are you doing? You’re just chasing pavements…that you’re never going to catch.’ Then, I went straight home and wrote the song.”

Brash, wise beyond her years, but down-to-earth and focused, Adele was raised by a single mom to whom she’s devoted in the racially mixed, working-class London neighborhoods of Tottenham and Brixton, where she worshiped pop idols like Backstreet Boys, the Spice Girls, Take That and Britney Spears, not daring to dream one day she might follow in their footsteps to stardom herself.

“I didn’t realize this was something I could do until I got my record deal,” Adele admits. “I taught myself how to sing by listening to Ella Fitzgerald for acrobatics and scales, Etta James for passion and Roberta Flack for control.”

You can hear Ella’s scats in “My Same,” Flack’s flair for sensuous melody in Adele’s version of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love” from his Grammy-winning Time Out of Mind and James’ slow-burning urgency in “Melt My Heart to Stone.” But there’s also plenty of Adele in songs like “Tired,” where she reveals an otherwise hidden working-class British accent, “When I don’t get nuffin’ back.”

Although she went to the same performing arts school in Croydon that Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis and Kate Nash did, Adele is no pop tart, one-hit wonder, American Idol finalist or the puppet of some svengali producer. She’s an original, with a vocal style and personal charisma that is all about human warmth, honesty and embracing the audience.

“I have to believe what I’m singing about,” she says. “That’s how you connect with songs. And that’s what seems to have paved the way for me in the U.K. and Europe. People can relate to me. They believe me. I’m not some sort of concoction. I’m accessible. You can come up to me and go, ‘Hi,’ and I’ll be, like, ‘Hi’ back.”

Together, the songs on 19 compose a diary of a year in Adele’s life, one that began with her deciding to stay in London rather than attend university in Liverpool, which led her to write “Hometown Glory,” a paean to the city and her cherished memories of growing up there. And while insistent she knows little about politics, the verse, “I like it in the city when two words collide/You get the people and the government/Everybody taking different sides,” was about her taking part in a post-9/11 protest march against the Iraq war.

“It was just such a moment, to see all these people come together to stand against something,” she says. “There were these mohawk punks next to rude-boy kids in hoodies. It was great to be a part of.”

“Hometown Glory” was the first song she wrote for the album and it came after an argument with her mother about whether to leave London for Liverpool—which her mom thought best to teach her to stand on her own—or remain home, where she was surrounded by things that made her feel comfortable.

“The song is about wherever you’re from, being able to walk past a bus stop, a clothing store, a restaurant, a bar or a coffee shop and have your memories of them,” she says.

“Daydreamer” tells the story of her falling in love with a longtime friend she knew was bisexual. “I had no problem with that,” she laughs. “But I get so jealous anyway and I can’t fight off girls and boys. When I told him that, he said not to worry. Two hours later, he was kissing my gay best friend next door.”

Adele calls “Melt My Heart to Stone” her favorite song on the album. “I just love singing it. When I wrote it, I was crying,” she explains. “The song is about breaking up a relationship.”

Her manager, a Dylan fan, tried to get her to cover “Make You Feel My Love” for a year before she agreed, eventually coming to believe it was written for her. “The song is so convincing,” she says. “But when I first heard it, I couldn’t understand the lyrics. When I finally read them, I thought they were amazing. The song just kind of sums up that sour point in my life I’ve been trying to get out of my system and write into my songs. It completes the shape of the album, which is not sad, but bitter.”

The latest in the current spate of talented female singer-songwriters emerging from the U.K. scene, Adele was the first recipient of the Brit Awards’ newly inaugurated Critics Choice prize last December even before her debut album was released. She was also honored as the winner of BBC Music’s Sound of 2008 poll of music critics, editors and broadcasters, as the most promising new musical artist likely to emerge this year.

It seems that Gaga wrote the new track after she dubbed Diana a ‘martyr for fame.’

Princess Diana died aged 36 in a car crash in Paris in 1997 after being chased by the paparazzi, and Gaga feels this may happen to her too.

‘Gaga has had dreams about dying the same way as her and has genuine fears that her fame could literally kill her, either in a chase or at the hands of crazies,’ added the source.

The Marry The Night singer has never hidden the fact that she is interested in Diana’s style and her charity work, and as well as basing some of her outrageous costumes on the Royal’s fashion sense, it seems Gaga also took inspiration when writing her music too.

The singers 2009 hit Paparazzi was based on Diana’s tragic death, with Gaga saying: ‘Diana was the most iconic martyr of fame. She died because of it.’

‘American Idol’ alum takes shots at Rihanna, admits to plastic surgery.
Clay Aiken knows about competition. The TV veteran was not only a runner-up on the second season of “American Idol,” but he’s also hanging tough on the 12th season of “Celebrity Apprentice.”

But during an appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live,” he told host Andy Cohen that there’s one person he’s not worried about competing with: Rihanna.
The dis came when Aiken was on the hot seat in the “plead the fifth” segment. When asked which current pop singers wouldn’t make it past the first round on “Idol,” Aiken said, “Oh God, there is too many. Too many … Current pop singer? I’ve stopped listening to them because they can’t sing.”

Then he thought about it for a second and said, “Rihanna has some pitch problems for sure. She does … Now, am I gonna get in trouble?” The openly gay singer also had a unique answer to the “marry, kill, screw” question, when asked who he would choose between former tormentor and ex-”Idol” judge Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest. “Oh gosh, that’s awful, I wouldn’t want to kill any of them,” he said. “I’m gonna kill Simon, because it’s the obvious choice … Of the two that are left, I would probably screw Ryan and marry Randy. That’s the obvious choice, right?”

As if he hadn’t revealed enough, when asked if, as rumored, he’d ever had any plastic surgery, Aiken at first demurred, then admitted, “I had surgery on my jaw for a TMJ thing and I had them suck the fat out of my chin while they were in there. I was like, ‘You know what? While I’m already down, go ahead and take the vacuum in there and suck the fat out of my chin.’ ”

Katy Perry is allegedly nervous about what Russell Brand might choose to reveal about their broken marriage in the third installment of his memoir series, “My Booky Wook.”

Sources tells Us Weekly that Brand has started working on the book. The first installment, “A Memoir of Sex, Drugs, and Stand-Up,” was published in 2009. The second, “This Time It’s Personal,” came out a year later.

“He wants to tell his side of the story,” a source close to Brand tells the magazine, explaining why he’s reportedly forging ahead with the project. “The book will cover his married life, the breakup and moving on. And I don’t think he plans on keeping the breakdown of the marriage a secret. Pardon the pun, but Russell is an open book.”
